Keyboard Analysis Tool - Help
Select a layout and a keyboard configuration from the provided list of presets. You
can edit both the layout and the configuration by clicking on the Edit button.
To enter a custom layout, the format is simply 3 or 4 rows of characters representing each key.
Three rows represent the main, letter section of the keyboard. If you enter 4 rows, the top row
is be assumed to the number row.
In the configuration panel, you can also specify the keyboard type, the key-effort weights,
adjust penalty values for same-finger and neighbour-finger bigrams, and
define the finger that should be used for each key.
See the layout comparison page for more explanation of the parameters used in the model.
